1 If I buy a domain name from Intergrow, who is listed as the domain owner?
When you purchase a domain name through us it is owned by you. Through your domain management control panel you will be able to alter all of the contact information (Registrant, Admin, Billing or Technical) as well as any of the name server information. You have 24 hour access to this information without additional fees. You have total control.
2 How can I determine if the domain name I want is available?
Simply enter your desired domain name in the search box from any page on our site.
3 I would like to register a domain. Who do I put as the admin contact?
When you complete the registration form it is a good idea to keep in mind who you want the register to contact for renewal notices etc. The admin contact is the contact who will receive the renewal notices and who will have authority to make changes to the registration form. We recommend leaving Intergrow as the admin contact.
4 What top Level Domain names can I register with Intergrow?
.Com .Net .Org .Info .Biz .US
5 Can I transfer domains with different extensions other then .org, .net and .com?
You can transfer domains with the following extensions to us:
.Com .Net .Org .Info .Biz .US
6 Can I delete a domain if I made a mistake?
You have 72 hours to remove a newly registered domain. If you delete a domain after that, no credit can be issued.
7 When you register a domain how much time is needed before the domain name shows up on the Internet?
When you register a new domain or make changes to old domain, the registrar requires time to update the records as do the various ISP's. This time can take between 2-5 days to complete. This is standard internet time and is due to the number of networks involved. It is unavoidable. When planning websites or configuring a domain with email please take into consideration these time restrictions.
8 I just registered a domain with Intergrow but when I do a look up in any Whois, the domain still shows up as available. Why is that?
When you register with us the domain is registered immediately. Whois is a global registry system and it can take up to 72 hours to update. You will have to allow time for the domain to show up as registered by you in any Whois record. And since most Internet service companies that provide domain registrations use the InterNIC WHOIS database, you may find your name coming up as "available" on those sites, even though you have already secured it.
9 What is a Domain Name Server (DNS)?
Domain Name Servers have a similar function as a phone book. Names servers act as a directory that matches domains to their IP addresses. These directories direct traffic to the correct website. If you do not have name server information on your registration form then a person browsing the internet will never find your website. The entry for an individual domain on a name server is referred to as a zone file.
10 Why would I want my own name server?
Your own name server provides you with the ability to manage the entire DNS record. Using the DNS control panel you can add sub domains, and point them to different IP's. Custom Name servers also provide resellers with a more sophisticated looking business. For example if someone were to look up a domain name hosted by a reseller, the Whois record it would show ns1.resellersbusinessname.com.
11 When should I renew my domain name? Will I be notified?
Expiration notices/renewal reminders will be sent to the admin contact via email. You can renew at any time prior to the expiration date. When you renew your domain the time is added to the already existing expiration date ensuring that you will not lose any time.
12 What does 'Auto Renew' mean?
This option enables domains to be renewed automatically when they expire. For the renewal to be processed we be current Intergrow customer.
13 What does it mean to 'LOCK' my domain?
To put a lock on your domain means that the domain registration cannot be transferred. It also means that any request to alter the domain's name servers, contact information, and ownership will not be completed.
14 I just registered my domain name, how do I connect it to my Website?
In order for your registered domain name to connect to your website you will need to enter the name server information of your hosting company. You can make these modifications through the manage your domain control panel.
15 I lost my password and I just noticed that the email address (s) on my registration form is (are) no longer valid. What should I do?
For security reasons we can only send the password to the request email address on file. If the contact email address is no longer valid, the listed domain owner must send us a signed fax on company letterhead, requesting that the address be updated. In the fax be sure to include a copy of their government issued photo ID (Drivers License, Passport etc), the domain name and the new admin contact email address. Please fax it to 239.489.2383 Att: Intergrow . We should be able to read the signature on the photocopied card and the fax itself should also be signed.
